“March Madness”

Hey guys! I have missed you. March was a crazy month, so in the next couple of weeks I will be playing catch-up on my blog to show you my version of “March Madness” which has nothing to do with sports.

First! BABY-MOON!

For those of you who do not know what a Baby-Moon is, a Baby-Moon is a romantic vacation that a couple takes before the baby is born. So at 31 weeks pregnant, my husband and I flew to St. Kitts in the Caribbean. We chose this beautiful Caribbean location because one of my closes friends was marrying her soul mate there that weekend and I was one of her bridesmaids (or to be politically correct, brides-woman). Below are some photos of the Baby-Moon and a couple of photos of the beautiful bride and groom. And yes I need a new camera!!!

I only had the nerve to wear this when most of the wedding guest went on hike:

Now on to the wedding, it was a beautiful morning ceremony but the Bride and Groom has asked for us not to post pictures of the ceremony.

Bride and Groom’s first dance:

Bride and Groom’s table, those gold streamers are actually 1000 gold origami cranes and the guest souvenirs. My girlfriend is so creative! :

These photos do not do our Baby-Moon justice but I had to share.

P.S. I learned that pregnant women are still allowed to take an international flight at 31 weeks! That said, do not expect to be comfortable or for anyone to be nice to you, but knowing all of that, I would definitely do it all again in a heartbeat because we had an AMAZING time!

30 Weeks!

How far along? 30 Weeks! (7.5months)

Total weight gain: 25lbs

How big is baby? According to baby center, she is the size of a cabbage. She weighs about 3lbs and is about 15 inches long.

Maternity clothes? 90% of my clothing is maternity but not my bathing suits!!! Shopping for swimsuits at this stage sucks. The maternity ones I found make me look like I’m wearing a tent. So for my upcoming baby moon I just got a large bathing suit and called it a day.

Stretch Marks? No stretch marks but hello cellulite

Best moment this week? I have completed just about everything on my baby “to do list”!!! The only things I have left to do on my list are hire a pediatrician and refurbish my father’s old rocker for the nursery.

Movement? She is moving a lot and is already head down!

Food Cravings? Sweets!!!!

What I miss: Still alcohol but I also miss smoked salmon and hot dogs.

What I am looking forward to: Meeting with my Doula and our baby moon in St. Kitts.

Nausea/Vomiting? Not since October!

Belly Button in or out? OUT!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Sleep?
Much better.

Weekly Wisdom:
I totally understand that my “to do list” will never be done but crossing things off feels so good!

6.5 Months but its feels like 8 months!

How far along? 26 Weeks! (6.5months)

Total weight gain: 20lbs

How big is baby? According to baby center, she is the size of an English hothouse cucumber. She weighs about 1-2/3 lbs and is 14 inches long.

Maternity clothes? 90% of my clothing is now maternity.

Stretch Marks? Nope!

Best moment this week? Seeing my husband become interested in our birthing class. For the past few weeks the men looked like they were dragged into the birthing class but week 5 something changed.

Movement? She is moving a lot more.

Food Cravings? Sweets!!!!

What I miss: Still alcohol! I really want a glass of wine and to drink beer during happy hour instead of ice tea.

What I am looking forward to:
I’m looking forward to clearing off that baby to do list. There seems like soooo much to do and so much to read.

Nausea/Vomiting? Not since October!

Belly Button in or out? OUT!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Sleep? Is okay but the dreams are crazy! My dreams are so vivid not always in good way.

Weekly Wisdom: This is something I never would have thought to do until my mother in law asked me if I wanted an organic crib mattress. I thought why would I ever need that, but then I did some research. Friends, please read about organic and eco-friendly nursery furniture. Know what you are putting your newborn baby to sleep on and how to help crate a safe toxic free place for your infant. It’s really not that hard. It’s all about reading labels. Below is a link that I found very helpful.

First post for the New Year!!!

Hey guys I all hope you had a wonderful holiday! I have had the hardest time figuring out how to recap the holiday. My holiday was very busy and full of activities that constantly included friends and family who do not know I have a blog or do not want to be shown on my blog. I wanted to just skip this post all together but I couldn’t skip it because it was my first Christmas and New Years in Texas. So I’ve decided to make the recap really simple with just a few photos

My grandmother, mother, brother, sister in law, sister and two nephews all flew to Houston. This was my first time playing hostess and I was a bit stressed out but then my grandma made her famous pumpkin soup and it made everything… ALL GOOD!!!
